We are a local, all-Finnish, family-run company — your gateway to remarkable polar adventure in Rovaniemi, Lapland. The owner and main guide of the company was born and raised here, in the very surroundings where you will be taken for the outings. As seen from the pictures, our history with the provided excursions is long and profound, dating back decades as a simple way of living. Located just north of the Arctic Circle, we now want to offer these experiences for all ages and interests, including reindeer farm visits and safaris, norhern lights hunts and hopefully in the future, all other kinds of snow and ice activities.
Our tours are designed for families, couples, groups, and solo travelers. With expert guides and top-quality equipment, we ensure that every excursion is authentic, safe, fun and above all, memorable.

What are your opening hours?
Our opening hours are during the tours. The reindeer tours start with a center pick-up around 9 am and ends around 12.30 pm with a center drop off.
The Aurora Hunt tour starts around 7 pm with a center pick-up and ends around 10 pm to 1 am drop off, depending on how quickly we catch the Northern Lights.
Where is White Winter Lapland located?
We are located in Rovaniemi, which is the capital of Lapland, Finland. Our activities are situated just north of the Arctic Circle, roughly 35 minute drive away but the exact location we keep as a secret, for now.
How do I get there?
Our tours include there-and-back transportations from the center of Rovaniemi. The meet up place can be seen while making the booking.
Will it be dark?
The aurora hunt visit will be during the dark, but the reindeer tours are scheduled in a way that the activitity could be done during the daylight.
Do you provide winter clothing?
Yes, we can provide some extra clothing free of charge. We have boots and mittens. Please note that we carry adult sizes only. Remember that you should already be wearing as warm clothes as possible when we depart. The clothing we provide are just an extra.
Do you offer private tours?
Sure we do! If you are interested in private tour, just send us a message and we can figure something out.
Are there wild animals around in the forests?
Yes, there are. The red fox, black grouse, mountain hare and moose are the most notable ones. Predators such as the Eurasian lynx, golden eagle, brown bear, wolverine and gray wolf are rarely seen as they are extremely elusive to humans. Brown bear hibernates through the winter.
Are reindeer dangerous?
Reindeer are not dangerous! They are gentle and curious animals, especially when they know they are getting fed. Their antlers may be a problem, mainly against the face area if the animal is startled. It’s always best not to place your face too close to the antlers.
Can a person with reduced mobility join a tour?
Yes, they most likely can. We recommend contacting us in advance to inform us of any mobility limitations so we can together make some special arrangements for your needs. If trekking in the snow causes issues for a person with reduced mobility, we can always try figuring out if moving around in a sledge or back of a snowmobile is a possibility.
What is your cancellation policy?
All cancellations must be made by email. Cancellations can be refunded when cancellation is made 24 hours before the departure time of the excursion. For later cancellations or no-shows, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
